| Welcome to The IRIS Center |
The IRIS Center offers special education resources and materials- validated instructional strategies,research-to-practice strategies, best practice strategies- for effective inclusion and mainstreaming of students with disabilities. The Center provides resources for pre-service general education teachers, school administrators and leadership personnel, school counselors and counseling professionals, and school nurses in the areas of accommodations and modifications, behavior management, collaboration and consultation, disability awareness, cultural and linguistic diversity, IDEA, instruction, and transition counseling. In addition, IRIS materials provide information on issues related to education legislation and professional standards. IRIS on-line modules, case studies, and activities are available to college students and faculty through distance education and learning. |

Applied Health Sciences is a small but influential college consisting of the departments of Kinesiology and Community Health; Recreation,Sport and Tourism; and Speech and Hearing Science. Each is involved with enhancing health and human development. Three additional units are administered by the College and serve the campus as a whole: the Center on Health, Aging, and Disability, the Division of Rehabilitation Education, and the Disability Research Institute.
